Errors in your registry are one of the common causes for incorrect file associations on your windows system. It is highly recommended that you
check your registry for file association errors (will also check for any other registry errors).
The FWT file type is primarily associated with 'FacetWin' by Facet Corp.. FacetWin is an all-in-one Windows to UNIX/Linux connectivity tool. When the FacetWin client is installed in Windows, a file-association is made so that a .FWT file launches fwt.exe, which then initiates a text terminal session similar to telnet or ssh based on the settings in the FWT file. Clicking on a .FWT file via http works in Internet Explorer but may not in other browsers. The file format is human readable plain text.
