KPX file format details:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our analysis of the KPX files produces the following result:
KPX is seldom used as a file extension and is mainly used by one program with a specific format. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 85% of all KPX files belong to Kid Pix project. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. Most of these files are 170 KB to 1 MB in size. This is an old file type which is rarely used today. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. MHWK, AppleMark, JFIF, jpeg and RSRC. Some examples of file names are KidPix1.kpx.
The remaining 15% of all KPX files are different files with different signatures. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your KPX file!
