What is an NMA file?

NMA files mostly belong to GPSBabel. The NMA file extension may refer to different file formats used in specialized fields.
For example, if the file is a GPS NMEA log file, it contains data from GPS devices following the NMEA protocol, often with raw sentences that report position and time. You can open these using text editors or specialized tools like u-center and GPSBabel.

• GPS NMEA Log File: Contains plain text data with standard NMEA sentences; ideal for geolocation work and can be converted with GPSBabel.
• Nima Animation File: Stores animation parameters and movement data used by NIMA Studio and compatible with CrazyTalk Animator. Visit the NIMA Studio webpage for more details.
• 3D Scene Data File: Holds scene layout, object positioning, and camera angles for simulations or game environments. It is managed by the NeoAxis Engine and known as the Narrative Mission Archive format; more info can be found at NeoAxis.

How to open NMA files

You need a suitable software like GPSBabel to open an NMA file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your NMA file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a NMA file directly in the browser:. NMA file extension format:

If you know the file format, you can also find out how to open or edit the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below you will find our evaluation of the NMA files:

NMA is rarely used as a file extension and has no uniform or dominant file format. But the following two file formats are common:

• 15% of all NMA files start with the magic bytes 24 50, which are always the first bytes of this file format. These files contain text and words as well as binary data. Most of these files are 86 KB to 4 MB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as $PMTK013,AgpsMachine,set,0,result,0*17, 115200, 26000000, UInitCf, MNLop and GNSSOPMode. Such files sometimes refer to host and nmea.
• 15% of all NMA files belong to NMEA GPS log data. These files contain text and words, not binary data. The files are 1 KB to 3 MB in size, with a median of 440 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as GPGGA and GPRMC.
