What is a P02 file?

P02 files mostly belong to Allplan. The P02 file can mean two different things depending on its origin.
In one use, it is an Allplan CAD drawing file – sometimes called an Allplan Plot File. This file stores drawing data used in planning and building design. It is an internal format that works only with the Allplan software created by Allura Plan Design.
In another use, a P02 file may be a segment of a split archive for a PowerPoint slide. In this case, the file is one part of a multi‑segment setup created by utilities like PeaZip and handled by recovery tools such as EasyRecovery. All parts must be present to rebuild the complete presentation.
Consider the following points:

If the file is a CAD drawing, use Allplan to open and view it.

If it is part of a split archive, make sure you have all segments and then use an archive tool to combine them.

How to open P02 files

You need a suitable software like Allplan to open a P02 file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your P02 file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a P02 file directly in the browser:. P02 file format:

The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our examination of the P02 files comes to the following conclusion:

P02 is not a common file extension and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The following file formats are most commonly found in P02 files:

• 25% of all P02 files start with the magic bytes BPIN, which are always the first bytes of this file format. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The files are on average 380 KB in size and range from 130 KB to 830 KB. The files contain the following words: BPINPS, SP1PALA1, 4TR0ECPE, 4TR0PE, ECNP256PALA1 and PM0PE.
• 10% of all P02 files have the same signature +------------------------------------------------. These files are plain text, which means they can be viewed with any text editor such as Windows Editor, Nano for Linux, and TextEdit for macOS. The files are 8 KB to 1 MB in size, with a median of 570 KB. The files contain the following words: UNO - VER 8.
