What is a PAINT file?

PAINT files mostly belong to Paintbrush. PAINT files are specialized drawing files used by two main applications.
In one case, they are created by Apple's macOS drawing app (Paintbrush). These files use an internal plist (Property List) format to store drawing data and instructions. This means the file holds structured XML data, which includes details about the drawing elements and configuration.
In another case, PAINT files are used by Paint.NET for pixel art. Here the file acts as a raster image file that stores pixel‐by‐pixel art data.
