What is a PANO file?

PANO files mostly belong to Carestream Imaging.

PANO files are used in several specific imaging contexts. The primary use is as a DICOM file that holds a dental panoramic radiograph. This format is employed by Carestream Imaging Software for storing and viewing full-mouth X-ray images.

How to open a PANO file

6% of all PANO files are based on the zip format, the PANO file contains a number of compressed files. Such a ZIP file contains 20 to 91 files with names like [Content_Types].xml, \_rels\.rels, \formats\, \formats\cubemap\atlas.jpg, \formats\cubemap\bottom\, \formats\cubemap\bottom\10\0_1.jpg, \formats\cubemap\bottom\10\1_1.jpg, \formats\cubemap\bottom\9\0_1.jpg, \formats\cubemap\cubemap.json, \formats\cubemap\front\, \formats\cubemap\front\10\0_1.jpg, \formats\cubemap\front\10\1_1.jpg, \formats\cubemap\front\11\0_1.jpg, \formats\cubemap\front\11\1_1.jpg, \formats\cubemap\front\11\2_1.jpg, \formats\cubemap\front\11\3_1.jpg, \formats\cubemap\front\9\0_1.jpg and \properties\. A little tip: If you rename the file extension to .zip and then double-click, you will see the included files and images. The average file size is 1 MB with most files being between 420 KB and 1 MB in size. The files contain the following words: JFIF and formats/cubemap/atlas.jpg. WIN_20180601.pano or LIAM - WIN_20180601.pano is a typical file name. Such PANO files store data about person-related data.
