RUS file format:
The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the RUS files looks like this:
RUS is not that commonly used as a file extension. This file type predominantly uses a uniform format. The file formats most commonly found in RUS files are:
- 80% of all RUS files are based on the popular EXE file format. EXE is the abbreviation for executable and is the standard executable file format on Windows. The format can be identified by the letters "MZ" at the beginning. Executable files can also be used to distribute viruses and other types of malicious software (malware). The content consists of binary data as well as text and words. Most of these files are 1.4 MB to 1 MB in size. The file type is old but is used even today. The keywords This program must be run under Win32 are typical for these files. An example of a file name is _FLEngine.rus or _FLEngine_x64.rus. These files can be linked to flengine, licence and manager.
- 6% of all RUS files use the popular UTF-16 (LE) file format. UTF-16 (LE) is an character encoding system for Unicode. UTF-16 files can be viewed in any modern text editor. These files start with the two bytes FF FE, the so called byte order mark (BOM). These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. RUS files are between 76 bytes and 27 KB in size.
All other RUS files (14%) have no consistent format, often, for example, Navitel 1.1 Map. Sometimes used for coalesced. Just click the "Choose your .rus file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your RUS file is.
