How can I open an RVM file?

You need a suitable software like AVEVA PDMS to open an RVM file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. RVM file format:

Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the RVM files is as follows:

RVM is not a commonly used file extension and mainly uses a special format. The following file formats are most commonly found in RVM files:

• 90% of all RVM files use the same file format, which have the signature 00 00 00 48 00 00 00 45. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. Most of these files are 190 KB to 120 MB in size. The file type is old but is used even today. The following keywords are characteristic: Unicode UTF-8, AVEVA PDMS, AVEVA PDMS Design Mk12 and (WINDOWS-NT 6.1). Files like these are about model.
