What is an STUDIO file?

STUDIO files mostly belong to Silhouette Studio by Silhoutte. A STUDIO file is a design project created by Silhouette Studio version 1 and 2 design software. It contains all images, text, gradients, color information, and layout settings for a design which can be fed into a Silhouette cutting machine. STUDIO is also the filename extension of an application's user interface mockup created by InVision Studio application prototyping software. This file is actually a ZIP archive containing all vector/raster images, page layouts, devices mockups, and transitions used in a project. Another type of STUDIO file contains a design project created by Graphtec Studio.

How to open STUDIO files

You need a suitable software like Silhouette Studio to open an STUDIO file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your STUDIO file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. To view or edit STUDIO files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. square, silhouette04; and 12x12ff. Files like these have the following tags: christmas, card, caixa, silhouette, village, brasil and belle.
