What is a TH file?

TH files mostly belong to PyTorch. A TH file is mainly a container for machine learning models used by PyTorch. In most cases, the file is a Torch Hub model stored inside a ZIP archive. This package holds model weights, configuration files, and other components that a PyTorch environment loads directly through its hub API.
On occasion, a TH file may also be a JPEG image used as a thumbnail by TouchPal. These cases are distinct from the primary purpose.

TH format details:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the TH files looks like this:

TH is not that commonly used as a file extension. This file type is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. But the following two file formats are common:

• 35% of all TH files use the same file format, which have the signature 80 02 8A 0A 6C FC 9C 46 F9 20 6A A8 50 19 2E 80. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. The files are on average 49 MB in size and range from 110 KB to 480 MB. The file type is relatively new. The following keywords are characteristic: intq, little_endianq, longq, protocol_versionq, shortq, type_sizesq, ccollections and OrderedDict. The following filename is common: weights.th or resnet20-12fca82f.th. Files like these are about resnet, model, best and gector.
• 20% of all TH files are based on the well-known JFIF file format. JFIF is short for JPEG File Interchange Format. It is a bitmap graphic that uses JPEG compression. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. Most of these files are 1 KB to 4 KB in size. The files contain the following words: JFIF, "!&+7/&)4)!"0A149;>>>%.DIC<H7=>; and ;("(;;;;;;;;. Such files are related to back, front and pattern.
