What is a TME file

TME files mostly belong to Bryce by DAZ. TME files are used to store motion settings and time curves for a 3D animation created using Bryce, a 3D modelling and animation software for Windows and Mac. TME files can be found in the Bryce installation directory under the /Presets/ folder. EdgeCAM, an industrial modelling and simulation software developed by EDGECAM also stores some of its licensing data in TME files.

How to open TME files

You need a suitable software like Bryce to open a TME file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TME file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TME file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

  2. EdgeCAM (licensing data) by EDGECAM
EdgeCAM is a CAD/CAM software mainly used for creating and simulating 3D models of industrial machinery. It's ONE, RNT, and TME are used to update its dongle-based and timed licensing models on a user's computer. This file format is classified as Settings.

TME file format:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Below is our analysis of the TME files:

The TME file extension includes different formats for the applicable programs. The file formats most commonly found in TME files are:

The remaining 55% of all TME files are different files with different signatures, often, for example, ZIP, XML and GXT. Sometimes used for scenery, coat, collar, money, attackfast, aircraft, alqamees, classic, bottom, thobe or hero. How to solve problems with TME files

  • Associate the TME file extension with the correct application.
  • Update your software that should actually open time curves. Because only the current version supports the latest TME file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the DAZ manufacturer website after an available Bryce update.
  • To make sure that your TME file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
