TMI file format details:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the TMI files is as follows:
The TMI file extension includes various formats for various programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in TMI files:
- 35% of all TMI files use the popular config file format. A configuration file is used by computer software to store settings. It consists of a text-based content with a structure and syntax comprising key–value pairs for properties, and sections that organize the properties. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view and read the content yourself. The file size is in the range of 410 bytes to 4 KB. The file type was created 10 years ago, but is still used today. The following keywords are characteristic: HEIGHT, WIDTH, [FILM_MOUNT_INFO], WRITER=, TYPE=0, 000000, DESC=, MOUNT_TYPE=DIVIDE, IMAGE_FILES=, DIVIDE_ROW=1, DESC=intraoral x-ray film mount, GUID=1e06fa37_19af_4244_b2bb_0d399b04ccd9, NAME=Full_Series and DIVIDE_COL=2. A usual file name is 1e06fa37_19af_4244_b2bb_0d399b04ccd9.tmi or 858073e8_e7e9_4593_9d53_13478679c486.tmi.
- 15% of all TMI files use the same file format, which have the signature TMD. They consist of unreadable binary data. The average file size is 51 KB with most files being between 26 KB and 91 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. BASE4, EXTNH and unnamed. Files like these are sometimes connected to video.
The remaining 50% of all TMI files are different files with different signatures, often e.g. Record and ObjectType. They are often associated with greenscreen, destxxxxxx, pujopassxx, alucobond, covering, panels or roof.
