TMK format details:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Our evaluation of the TMK files is as follows:
The TMK file extension is not found very often and predominantly uses a uniform format. But the following two file formats are common:
- 90% of all TMK files use the popular UTF-8 file format. UTF-8 is the World Wide Web's most common character encoding for Unicode. UTF-8 files can be viewed with any text editor. These files start with the 3 bytes (hex: EF BB BF), the so called byte order mark (BOM). These files are not pure binary files and are therefore readable and interpretable with a text editor. The files are on average 18 bytes in size and range from 18 bytes to 210 bytes. The file type is relatively new.
All other TMK files (10%) have no uniform format. The category is assa. You can get all the details of your TMK file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .tmk file to analyze" above.
