What is a TWD file?

TWD files mostly belong to DesignDoll. TWD files can store different kinds of data. The most common use is as a 3D model file for design programs such as DesignDoll. For example, these files may contain data for character or object models.
Other uses include:

• Mind mapping documents: Some TWD files hold mind maps. They often use formats like GZIP or Microsoft Compound, and are associated with applications such as MindMapper (MindMapper).
• PLC programs: Certain TWD files use an XML format to store Twido PLC programs, created by TwidoSuite.
• Tower analysis data: Some files contain tower analysis results from engineering studies, produced by Radimpex Tower (Radimpex Tower).
• Database files: A few TWD files carry Jet DB database information used for total station data, linked to Topcon Tools (Access).

How to open TWD files

You need a suitable software like DesignDoll to open a TWD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. TWD file format:

Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our analysis of the TWD files produces the following result:

The TWD extension is quite commonly used. The file itself covers different formats for different programs. But the following two file formats are common:

• 45% of all TWD files have the same signature 00 00 04 00 EA 03 00 00 68 02. They consist of unreadable binary data. Most of these files are 300 KB to 350 KB in size. The file type is relatively new. The file name Untitled.twd is characteristic of these files. These files are attributed to pose, model and girl.
• 20% of all TWD files store the data in the GZIP file format. Gzip is a compressed archive file format. Gzip (GNU zip) is only capable of compressing a single file. They consist of unreadable binary data. The average file size is 51 KB with most files being between 17 KB and 210 KB in size. Files like these are sometimes connected to draft, mind and plan.

All other TWD files (35%) have no consistent format, often e.g. MindMapper Map, XML, JetDB, Radimpex and TRT. The category is zadatak, management, program, spring or first.
