How to open UTE files

UTE file extension format:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our analysis of the UTE files produces the following result:

The UTE file extension is rarely used and includes different formats for different programs. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 65% of all UTE files use the popular UTF-8 file format. UTF-8 is the World Wide Web's most common character encoding for Unicode. UTF-8 files can be viewed with any text editor. These files start with the 3 bytes  (hex: EF BB BF), the so called byte order mark (BOM). These files are plain text, which means they can be viewed with any text editor such as Windows Editor, Nano for Linux, and TextEdit for macOS. The average file size is 780 bytes with most files being between 150 bytes and 2 KB in size. The file type is relatively new. Files like these are sometimes connected to bouquet, ending, intro, tutorial, homunculus, followup, abramar, spread and tales.
• 15% of all UTE files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "[CHECKTRIGGER:" at the beginning. These files are plain text, which means they can be viewed with any text editor such as Windows Editor, Nano for Linux, and TextEdit for macOS. A typical file size is 520 bytes. The keywords CHECKTRIGGER, CHILDREN, NF_Villager, CHAR_REPEAT, DONE, house, that and Coppersmith are typical for these files. Some examples of file names are fertile_steal_children.ute. Such files sometimes refer to children, fertile and steal.
