All about UWL Files
The UWL file type is primarily associated with GroupWise.
What is a UWL file
UWL files mostly belong to GroupWise by Novell, Inc. GroupWise is collaboration and productivity software. This file contains user-added words to the GroupWise E-Mail dictionary, as well as QuickCorrect entries. The filename pattern for all GroupWise User Word List files is WT$$&&.uwl, where $$ is the GroupWise UWL version (e.g., 61 = GroupWise User Word List Version 6.1) and && is the language code (e.g., US for US English, UK for British English, etc.). The file is stored as Unicode text. In some cases, GroupWise installs this file in the root of your C: drive, forcing all users on the PC to use the same user dictionary and QuickCorrect list, but it can be moved/copied to each user's profile and customized.
How to open a UWL file
You need a suitable software like GroupWise to open a UWL file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your UWL file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a UWL file directly in the browser:.
