What is a VSL file

VSL files mostly belong to Vienna Instruments by Vienna Symphonic Library. A VSL file is a stylesheet template used by Velocity template engine. It contains text, CSS, and code written in Velocity Template Language in order to dynamically generate a CSS stylesheet. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. VSL file extension format:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Compound files always start with the bytes ÐÏࡱá (hex code D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1). The app name of VSL files is Visual.
