What is a Z3 file

Z3 files mostly belong to ZW3D. The Z3 file extension is used for files with very different internal structures and purposes, depending on their origin.

CAD Files: These Z3 files are linked to ZW3D CAD and also appear as ZWCAD Z3D files. They store 3D modeling and design data used in professional computer-aided design. They are managed by systems from ZWSoft.

Game Data Files: In another use, Z3 files serve as compressed data containers for Infocom interactive fiction. Such files are processed by the Infocom Z-Machine Interpreter, information available at Infocom.

How to open a Z3 file

You need a suitable software like ZW3D to open a Z3 file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
