What is an ADB file?

ADB files mostly belong to Ability Database by Ability. An ADB file is a database created with Ability Database relational database management system. This database file contains structured data organized into tables, reports, macros, forms, queries, and indexes. Another type of ADB file contains database information such as table names, sets, library names, and workspaces used by Alpha Anywhere integrated development environment. ADB is also the filename extension of a script containing the implementation or body of a package written in Ada programming language. Act! CRM program saves activity data in an ADB file. Alphacam woodworking program uses an ADB file to store die-cut macros.

How to open ADB files

You need a suitable software like Ability Database to open an ADB file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ADB file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ADB file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

ADB file format:

Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Our evaluation of the ADB files is as follows:

An ADB file is used by many programs, each with its own file format. The file formats most commonly found in ADB files are:

All other ADB files (83%) have no consistent format, often, for example, CorelCENTRAL Address Book, HP Phone/Database/Note database, ZIP, JetDB, Java, XML, ELF, Jagannatha, ANDROID, adb and with. Sometimes used for data, service, account, center, aris or msld. You can get all the details of your ADB file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .adb file to analyze" above.

How to solve problems with ADB files

  • Associate the ADB file extension with the correct application.
  • Update your software that should actually open databases. Because only the current version supports the latest ADB file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Ability manufacturer website after an available Ability Database update.
  • To make sure that your ADB file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
  • Click here to open your .ADB file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
