What is a CDC file?

CDC files mostly belong to AutoCAD by Autodesk. CDC filename extension is associated with thumbnail (image) files automatically generated when a user accesses a directory containing drawings created with AutoCAD, 2D/3D CAD design software. Accessing a directory that contains AutoCAD drawings via the DesignCenter utility causes the program to generate raster images stored in CDC files and used to preview the actual drawings. CoverDesigner, a program used to design and customize compact disc covers, labels, booklets, and cases, saves CD cover designs in CDC files. CoverDesigner is usually distributed as part of Nero multimedia software suite. Chromeleon, a chromatography data system software stores its driver configuration plugin in a CDC file. CDC filename extension is also associated with drawings created by Canvastic, a raster graphics editor for Mac and iPads. Some CDC files may also contain stylesheets created with Ovation Pro,a desktop publishing software for Windows operating systems.

How do you open CDC files?

You need a suitable software like AutoCAD to open a CDC file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. CDC file format:

The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. 20% of all CDC files do not have a uniform signature. These files contain text and words as well as binary data. The average file size is 4 KB with most files being between 2 KB and 7 KB in size. The file type was created recently. The keywords Prestadora Telefonica, ServMens, Servi, Tipo:TipoServMens:string:80,0:text, os Mensais, CESAR, Identificador:IDServMens:s, MARTINS and RAMOS are typical for these files. Files like these are sometimes connected to outubro, maio, abril, janeiro, dezembro, setembro, junho, fevereiro and agosto.
20% of all CDC files are based on the Microsoft Compound File format, which is also known as Compound File Binary File format (CFBF or CFB) or OLE2 Compound Document format. This Windows file format has features similar to those of a filesystem format with virtual files and subfolders. Header signature for the CFB format with 8-byte Hex value D0CF11E0A1B11AE1 (which looks like "DOCFILE"). The file contains sections List Elements, Version and DWG Drawing. The files are often between 5 KB and 220 KB in size.

All the rest of the CDC files (60%) have different formats, frequently e.g. ZIP and hoven. They are often associated with julho, vivo, backup, backlight, metadata, novembro, hiedss, reader or lead.
