CUP file format:
If you know the file format, you can also find out how to open or edit the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Below you will find our evaluation of the CUP files:
CUP is seldom used as a file extension and includes various formats for various programs. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 30% of all CUP files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "name, code, country, lat, lon, elev, style, rwdir, rwlen," at the beginning. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. A typical file size is 30 KB. The file type is a fairly new file format. The following keywords are characteristic: userdata, pics and name, code, country, lat, lon, elev, style, rwdir, rwlen, freq, desc.
- 10% of all CUP files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "47 04" at the beginning. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. The file size is in the range of 900 bytes to 370 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as SC1x5 and WEB-PLC. Examples of file names are config.cup.
All other CUP files (60%) have no consistent format, such as CUP. Sometimes used for patch, mjparser, germany or update. Just click the "Choose your .cup file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your CUP file is.
