DLX files mostly belong to Dialux.

Dialux Lighting Design Project File: These DLX files are used by Dialux to store lighting design project data using a Microsoft Compound format.

How do you open DLX files?

You need a suitable software like Dialux to open a DLX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. DLX file extension format:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Below you will find our evaluation of the DLX files:

The DLX file extension is not found very often and is primarily used by a single program. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 80% of all DLX files use the Microsoft Compound File format, which is also known as Compound File Binary File format (CFBF or CFB) or OLE2 Compound Document format. This is a complex container format used by earlier versions of Microsoft Office and other Windows programs. The first 8 bytes of the CFB format are D0CF11E0A1B11AE1 (which looks like "DOCFILE"). The internal app name of DLX files is DIALux. There is also a unique Windows component object identifier (CLSID) which is 06b6df53-bab8-11d2-a1df-0060086e6d73. The data in this file is stored in streams whose names are CONTENTS, CadMan, OutputMan, Previews, ProjectData0, TextureMan and SummaryInformation. The files are 410 KB to 10 MB in size, with a median of 2 MB. The file type is relatively new. These files can be linked to lighting, calculation, project, vibrastic, lamp and road.
• 5% of all DLX files are using the well-known EXE file format to store the data. EXE is the abbreviation for executable and is the standard executable file format on Windows. The format can be identified by the letters "MZ" at the beginning. Executable files can also be used to distribute viruses and other types of malicious software (malware). The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The files are often between 17 KB and 110 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. !This program cannot be run in DOS mode.
