What is a DM file?

DM files mostly belong to BYOND by BYOND. DM filename extension is mainly associated with a script created by BYOND game development environment. This DM file contains source code written in the scripting language used by BYOND. A DRM-protected DM file is used to store maps used by Darkest Dungeon video game. DM is also the filename extension of an audio file containing vocals, portamento, and arpeggiato audio data created using DeltaMusic program on classic Amiga operating system. This format is obsolete. DM filename extension is also associated with a DRM-protected audio format used to store audio content on Sony Ericsson mobile phones. How to open a DM file

To view or edit DM files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. • 75% of all DM files start with the bytes 01 09 crucial for this file format. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. DM files are between 82 KB and 17 MB in size. The file type was developed only in the last few years. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as AES128CBC, FL: 145, LGEATT: 8, LGEID, LGEVAL, RFC2630, flockL, padding, plaintextlen and Encryption-Method. The following filename is common: 20180601.jpg.dm or 20180601.mp4.dm. Such DM files store data about jpeg, screenshot, received, capture, everytime, snapchat, woman and videos.
• 3% of all DM files are based on the popular MP4 file format. MP4 is a multimedia container format used to store video and audio and allows streaming over the Internet. They consist of unreadable binary data. Most of these files are 2 MB to 750 MB in size. The keywords lmvhd, \tkhd, mdat, moov, ftypmp42 and trak are typical for these files. A usual file name is 20180601.mp4.dm. These files can be linked to beat and sync.
