Opening a DPL File
The DPL file type is primarily associated with ZebraDesigner.
What is a DPL file?
How do you open DPL files?
You need a suitable software like ZebraDesigner to open a DPL file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your DPL file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a DPL file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

DPL file format:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our examination of the DPL files comes to the following conclusion:
An DPL file includes a lot of different file formats for different programs. The file formats most commonly found in DPL files are:
- 15% of all DPL files use the same file format, which have the signature 02 6E 0D 0A. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. The files are often between 3 KB and 6 KB in size. The keywords IDp00000 and KcLW0394 are typical for these files. These files are attributed to label and outward.
- 10% of all DPL files are based on the popular UTF-8 file format. UTF-8 is the World Wide Web's most common character encoding for Unicode. UTF-8 files can be viewed with any text editor. These files start with the 3 bytes (hex: EF BB BF), the so called byte order mark (BOM). The contents of these files can even be read by a human. A typical file size is 5 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as DAUMPLAYLIST, playname, file, topindex=0, saveplaypos=0 and playtime. Examples of file names are PotPlayerMini64.dpl.
All other DPL files (75%) have different formats, often e.g. Borland component, XML, PCS, Thumbprint, PAR and DPL. They are often associated with template, labels, datamax or notg. You can get all the details of your DPL file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .dpl file to analyze" above.

a dpl specialized data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with DPL files
- Associate the DPL file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open specialized data files. Because only the current version supports the latest DPL file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available ZebraDesigner update.
- To make sure that your DPL file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .DPL file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
