DSB file format:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. Nonetheless, different programs can utilize the same file extension to represent distinct file formats. Double-clicking on the file often results in an error when opening. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our analysis of the DSB files produces the following result:
The DSB file type is a very commonly used file extension and covers different formats for different programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 20% of all DSB files use the same file format, which have the signature LA:. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. The average file size is 20 KB with most files being between 1 KB and 100 KB in size. The file type is relatively new. The keywords PD:******, MY:+ 0 and MX:+ 0 are typical for these files. These files are often associated with logo and odas.
- 15% of all DSB files use the ZIP algorithm, i.e. a DSB file contains several compressed files. A DSB file can contain up to 25 files (mostly 1 - 2). If you'd like to see the images and files included, just rename the file extension to .zip and double-click. A typical file size is 1 MB. A common filename is idancesky.dsb or 08idb.dsb. Such files sometimes refer to survey, derse, house and model.
The remaining 65% of all DSB files are files with no common format, the following 9 formats can be found: XML, LPKG, DTSB and Systemrecorder. Sometimes used for backup, gridcode, unique, tick, india or lowres. If you want to find out which format your DSB file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .dsb file to analyze".
