What is a DWFX file

DWFX files mostly belong to AutoCAD by Autodesk. A DWFX file is a 2D or 3D drawing, design, or model created with Autodesk computer-aided design programs such as AutoCAD, Design Review, and Navisworks. This file is saved in the Design Web Format developed by Autodesk for CAD data exchange, review, and printing. Data stored in such a DWFX file is encoded using XML Paper Specification (XPS) and compressed into a ZIP container to provide a single file solution. These attributes make a DWFX file ideal for exchanging designs between design teams as the file is smaller (more compressed) than most 3D CAD formats.

How to open a DWFX file

You need a suitable software like AutoCAD to open a DWFX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
