What is an ERI file?

ERI files mostly belong to EntisGLS. ERI files are not a single format but can represent different specialized file types. They mainly store data for digital images and designs.

• Entis Raster Images: These files hold processed raster image data used by systems like EntisGLS and Entis Rasterizer. They are intended for internal use in image processing and display.
• Zebra Printer Labels: Some ERI files contain layout and print instructions for labels. They are created by ZebraDesigner Pro software. For details, visit the Zebra website.
• Tower Design Files: Another variant encodes numeric and design information for tower engineering, managed with software such as ERI Tower (also known as Tower Numerics).

How to open ERI files

You need a suitable software like EntisGLS to open an ERI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ERI file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ERI file directly in the browser:. How to convert ERI files to JPG, PNG, SVG, PDF, ...

Nonetheless, different programs can utilize the same file extension to represent distinct file formats. Double-clicking on the file often results in an error when opening. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the ERI files is as follows:

The ERI file extension is not found very often and mainly uses a special format. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 75% of all ERI files use the same file format, which have the signature Entis. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The files are often between 130 KB and 1 MB in size. The file type was developed 10 years ago and is still in use today. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. Entis, FileHdr, ImageInfD, Entis Rasterized Image and Header. Such files are related to aaaa.
• 10% of all ERI files have the same signature [File Info]. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. The file size is in the range of 120 KB to 370 KB. The files contain the following words: ClientName, DesignStandardSeries=TIA/EIA, ProjectName, ProjectNumber, [Common], [File Info], CreatedBy, UnitsSystem=US and CreatedOn.
