How to open FDL files

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. FDL is not that commonly used as a file extension. This file type includes various formats for various programs. The two most common formats are as follows:

• 35% of all FDL files are based on the zip format, so multiple files are compressed and stored together in one FDL file. A typical number of included files is 22. • 10% of all FDL files are based on the well-known EXE file format. EXE is the abbreviation for executable and is the standard executable file format on Windows. The format can be identified by the letters "MZ" at the beginning. Executable files can also be used to distribute viruses and other types of malicious software (malware). If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. FDL files can be up to 640 KB in size, but are often around 6 KB - 370 KB.
