Opening a GEO File
The GEO file type is primarily associated with TurboCAD.
What is a GEO file?
How to open GEO files
You need a suitable software like TurboCAD to open a GEO file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your GEO file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a GEO file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

GEO file format:
Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. In the following you will find our evaluation of the GEO files:
The GEO extension is very commonly found and includes different formats for the applicable programs. The file formats most commonly found in GEO files are:
- 30% of all GEO files are NETGEN Constructive Solid Geometry format files. These files are plain text, which means they can be viewed with any text editor such as Windows Editor, Nano for Linux, and TextEdit for macOS. The files are 1 KB to 68 KB in size, with a median of 7 KB. The file type is very old but is also used today. The following keywords are characteristic: 0.000000000 , 0.001000000 and *BELEGT*. Files like these are sometimes connected to adet and flat.
- 6% of all GEO files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "1E 18 1A 01 01 01 10 01" at the beginning. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. The files are often between 43 KB and 400 KB in size.
The remaining 64% of all GEO files are different files with different signatures, frequently e.g. SBG Object Text, XML, Source, JSON, ZIP, GEO, Binary, Point and DOUBLE. Files like these are sometimes linked to contenedores, varios, mesh, geometry, naca, static, patch, base, cube, data, demo, hall or hole. If you want to find out what your GEO file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.

a geo 3D virtual world is a special file format by IMSI Design and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with GEO files
- Associate the GEO file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open 3d virtual worlds. Because only the current version supports the latest GEO file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the IMSI Design manufacturer website after an available TurboCAD update.
- To make sure that your GEO file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .GEO file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
