What is an ISS file?

ISS files mostly belong to InstallShield by Revenera. ISS is the file extension associated with an InstallShield silent response file. InstallShield is a software from Revenera for creating software installation packages for Windows. ISS is a plain text file that stores settings for a silent installation. In a silent installation, instead of prompting the user for input, the installation package submits automated responses to the installation wizard. The source of these silent automated responses is the ISS file. The ISS file has a format similar to an INI file. It is divided into sections, including the Silent Header section, the Application Header section, the Dialog Sequence section, and Dialog Data sections (one for each dialog). How to open an ISS file
