What is a JWS file?
How to open JWS files
You need a suitable software like Oracle WebLogic Server to open a JWS file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your JWS file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a JWS file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

JWS file format:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our analysis of the JWS files produces the following result:
The JWS extension is very commonly used. This JWS file itself is among the most popular common file types and mainly uses a defined JWS format. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 70% of all JWS files internally use the Microsoft Compound File format, which is also called Compound File Binary File format (CFBF or CFB) or OLE2 Compound Document format. This general-purpose file format provides a file-system-like structure within a file for the storage of arbitrary, application-specific streams of data. The file signature of compound files is defined as D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1, so the first character of a file looks like "DOCFILE". The unique Windows component object identifier is bb677942-56bd-4374-8970-086ba6d81cab. Sections and streams in the file have names like BaseInfo, DataInfo, Header, Histories, MeasInfo, MeasParam, ModuleInfo, Results, SampleInfo, UserInfo, Y-Data and MicroImages. The files are 7 KB to 26 KB in size, with a median of 11 KB. The file type was created 10 years ago, but is still used today. These files can be linked to sample, buffer, blank, spectra, absorption, background, brbistbu, salophen, smooth, green and ugml.
- 20% of all JWS files start with the bytes L~S crucial for this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. JWS files can be up to 64 KB in size, but are often around 2 KB - 16 KB. The keywords i80x86, R2.0.0, SPECMAN and MSVC 1.0 are typical for these files. Files like these are sometimes connected to mood.
All other JWS files (10%) have different formats, the following 6 formats exist: JDeveloper Java Workspace Settings, HTML, eyJhbGciOiJSUzI and JwsData. The category is receipt, download, mgml, stmt, rhodamine, baseline, spectrum or corr. Just click the "Choose your .jws file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your JWS file is.
