Opening an LCD File
The LCD file type is primarily associated with PowerIso.
What is an LCD file
- Main Usage: The ABBYY language files or LCD files store sprint data that is used while the process of data capturing and document recognition. This sprint data is nothing but language information which is used for recognizing the text in a scanned document and translating that into characters and words.
- Associations:
- CDSpace Emulated Disk Image: The LCD file extension is also used by Space International CDSpace, a program that reads a CD and runs CD programs with virtual CD-ROMs without using the actual CD. These LCD files store disk image in the default format of CDSpace. This software has been discontinued now.
- LeoCAD project Files: LeoCAD, a program used to create virtual lego models, also uses LCD file extension. These LCD files are LeoCAD project files and store lego models.
How to open LCD files
You need a suitable software like PowerIso to open an LCD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your LCD file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a LCD file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert LCD files:
- PowerIso by PowerIso
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. LCD files are often referred to as PowerIso disk images because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- CDSpaceCDSpace was a program used to emulate virtual disk images so that programs could be run without access to the physical disk. LCD files are used by this program to store virtual disk images. This file format is classified as Disk Image.
- Finereader (language data file) by ABBYYABBYY FineReader is a comprehensive data capture and document recognition/conversion SDK. It includes technologies needed for developing intelligent data capture, document recognition, and document conversion systems. The program uses LCD files to store language data used to translate scanned documents to text. This file format is classified as Data.
- LeoCADLeoCAD is a 3D CAD program that uses bricks similar to LEGO toys. Project files use by this program are stored in LCD files. This file format is classified as CAD.
- UltraIso (disk image file) by EZB SystemsEZB Systems UltraIso is a tool for extracting, editing, and burning virtual disk images. LCD files are used by this program to store virtual disk images. This file format is classified as Disk Image.
LCD format details:
Why is it important to know the file format? This is the only way to find out which program to use to open the file. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below is our analysis of the LCD files:
The LCD file extension is quite common and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The following file formats are most commonly found in LCD files:
- 65% of all LCD files use the Microsoft Compound File format, also known as Compound File Binary File format (CFBF or CFB) or OLE2 Compound Document format. Compound document files work similarly to real file systems. They contain a number of independent data streams (like files in a file system) which are organized in a hierarchy of containers (like sub-directories in a file system). The Compound Document format is always starting with the bytes D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1. There is also a globally unique identifier 80c11f40-7503-1068-8576-00dd01113f11. The data in this file is stored in streams whose names are Audit Trail, File Comment, File Property, MS Tuning, PDA 3D Raw Data, Report Format, LSS QAQC Processing, Method File Comment, Extended Information, GUMM_Information, LCMS2011 Tuning, LSS Batch Table, LSS Data Load Format, LSS Data Processing, LSS Raw Data, LSS SST, LSS SST Original, Mass Raw Data, QLM Data Processing, Sampler Method and SystemCheckResult. The file size is in the range of 240 KB to 4 MB. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. Files like these have the following tags: assay, blank, data, standard, sample, meoh, levazanide and quercetin.
- 7% of all LCD files start with the magic bytes Shin, Joon-il. SPACE INTERNATIONAL/SOUTH KOREA, which are always the first bytes of this file format. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The files are on average 300 MB in size and range from 83 MB to 680 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. Shin, Joon-il. SPACE INTERNATIONAL/SOUTH KOREA. These files are often associated with person-related data.
All other LCD files (28%) have no uniform format, frequently e.g. Lucid 3-D spreadsheet and LCD. Sometimes used for agendas, policy, english, planting, palette or musle. Just click the "Choose your .lcd file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your LCD file is.

an lcd disk image file is a special file format by PowerIso and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with LCD files
- Associate the LCD file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open disk image files. Because only the current version supports the latest LCD file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the PowerIso manufacturer website after an available PowerIso update.
- To make sure that your LCD file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .LCD file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
