Programs that open and convert MCT files:
- Mifare Classic Tool
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. MCT files are often referred to as Mifare Classic Tool data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- MapChart (Genetic Map Data) by Plant Research InternationalMapChart is a computer package that produces charts of genetic linkage maps and QTL data. MCT files contain the full information to draw genetic linkage maps. This file format is classified as Text.
- MSN Messenger (Packaged Wink File) by MSNWinks, let you send a Flash-like animation to the screen of the person you're chatting with. Select the Wink to send from a Winks toolbar button in the chat window. (Often very annoying.) The MCT file type is used by some downloaders to mask the contents of the file. This is a CABinet file which can be opened in most unZIP programs.
- Musicator
MCT format details:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the MCT files is as follows:
The MCT file extension includes different formats for different programs. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 45% of all MCT files start with the bytes +Sector: , which are crucial for this file format. The contents of these files can even be read by a human. MCT files can be up to 8 KB in size, but are often around 1 KB - 2 KB. The file type is very recent. The keywords +Sector: 0, +Sector: 1, 000000000000, FFFFFFFFFFFFFF and FFFFFFFFFFFF are typical for these files. Files like these are about dump, badge and card.
- 15% of all MCT files are based on the popular CAP file format. CAP files are compressed archives. The first bytes (the signature) are 'MSCF' (short for MicroSoft Cabinet File). They consist of unreadable binary data. The file size is in the range of 32 KB to 1 MB. The following keywords are characteristic: MSCF and content.xml. A common filename is backgrounds.mct or scenes.mct. These files are often associated with winks, dynamicbackgrounds, usertiles and sounds.
All other MCT files (40%) have different formats, the following 6 formats can be found: XML, MUSICATOR and MCT. Files like these are sometimes linked to meta, safety, premium or europe. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your MCT file!
