Opening an NFC File
The NFC file type is primarily associated with Netware.
What is an NFC file?
How to open NFC files
You need a suitable software like Netware to open an NFC file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your NFC file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a NFC file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

NFC file extension format:
To find out what program is needed to open NFC files, you need to determine the file format. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Our evaluation of the NFC files looks like this:
NFC is not a common file extension and includes different formats for the applicable programs. The file formats most commonly found in NFC files are:
- 55% of all NFC files are Nokia PC Suite Content Copier files. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. NFC files are between 97 KB and 19 MB in size. The file type was primarily used more than 10 years ago. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. \FILES, Nokia and \FILES\0. A common filename is Nokia 6270_2020-06-01.nfc or Nokia 6630 2020-06-01.nfc.
- 9% of all NFC files start with the magic bytes 02 00 00 00, which are always the first bytes of this file format. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. NFC files can be up to 1 MB in size, but are often around 18 KB - 1 MB. The following keywords are characteristic: \FILES.
All other NFC files (36%) have no uniform format. These files sometimes refer to sdmonitor. You can get all the details of your NFC file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .nfc file to analyze" above.
