What is an NRI file?

NRI files mostly belong to Nero Burning ROM. The NRI extension is used for several distinct file types. The most common format is a disc image file created by Nero Burning ROM for CD/DVD projects. This file contains a complete optical disc layout that can be used for burning, copying, or archiving. Sometimes, the file data is stored using an encoding such as UTF-16 (LE).
Other use cases include:

How to open NRI files

You need a suitable software like Nero Burning ROM to open an NRI file. To view or edit NRI files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. The NRI file ending is used by different programs with different formats. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 50% of all NRI files belong to Nero ISO Compilation. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. Most of these files are 1 KB to 430 KB in size. This file type was primarily in use more than 10 years ago. The keywords EDJO, NERO BURNING ROM, ___1VCD1, FSIZ, DISC and NeroISO0.02.05 are typical for these files. Some examples of file names are ISO1_DVD.nri or ISO1.nri. Files like these have the following tags: movie, data, video, photos and nero.
• 30% of all NRI files are associated with Tricksteronline image. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The files are 2 KB to 1 MB in size, with a median of 260 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. GAWI and NORI/. Some examples of file names are cape_cm_001.nri. Such files sometimes refer to illu, card, intro, base, cape and skill.
