What is an OGX file?

OGX files mostly belong to Media Player by Microsoft. OGX is the filename extension of a multimedia file containing multiple video and audio streams (stored using different codecs). OGX files are saved in the OGG multimedia container file format developed by Xiph. Contents of a standard OGX video file include multiple lossy or lossless compressed videos and multichannel audio which are playable with programs such as Directshow, Media Player, and VLC. This format can be used to multiplex a number of separate, independent open source codecs for audio, video, text (e.g. subtitles, markup, annotations), and file metadata. OGG filename extension is also associated with files containing component gallery classes and resources exported from C++, an integrated development environment developed by Borland. These exported OGX files can be opened with Visual Studio

How to open an OGX file

You need a suitable software like Media Player to open an OGX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your OGX file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a OGX file directly in the browser:.
