Opening OTG Files
The OTG file type is primarily associated with LibreOffice Draw.
What is an OTG file?
How to open OTG files
You need a suitable software like LibreOffice Draw to open an OTG file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your OTG file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a OTG file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

- LibreOffice Draw
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. OTG files are often referred to as LibreOffice Draw page layouts because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- OpenOffice/StarOffice (OpenDocument (Ver 2) Graphics Document Template) by Sun Microsystems, Inc.This file format is part of the Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) 1.0 specification. This OASIS format is expected to become an industry standard for sharing documents. It is being adopted by the OpenOffice/StarOffice version 2 software suite but may appear in other products as well. The Mime types used with this association are: application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.graphics-template, application/x-vnd.oasis.opendocument.graphics-template. This file format is classified as XML. OTG file format:
To view or edit OTG files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our examination of the OTG files comes to the following conclusion:
The OTG file extension is not common and is primarily used by a single program. But the following two file formats are common:
- 97% of all OTG files internally use the ZIP format, the OTG file contains a number of compressed files. The 16 to 21 compressed files are called content.xml, meta.xml, mimetype, settings.xml, styles.xml, \Configurations2\, \Configurations2\accelerator\, \Configurations2\floater\, \Configurations2\images\, \Configurations2\images\Bitmaps\, \Configurations2\menubar\, \Configurations2\popupmenu\, \Configurations2\progressbar\, \Configurations2\statusbar\, \Configurations2\toolbar\, \Configurations2\toolpanel\ and \META-INF\manifest.xml. A little tip: If you rename the file extension to .zip and then double-click, you will see the included files and images. The files are on average 180 KB in size and range from 16 KB to 1 MB. The files contain the following words: mimetypeapplication/vnd.oasis.opendocument.graphics-templatePK and Configurations2/popupmenu/PK. Such files sometimes refer to template and card.
All the rest of the OTG files (3%) have different formats. You can get all the details of your OTG file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .otg file to view" above.
