OUT file format:
Why is it important to know the file format? This is the only way to find out which program to use to open the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. In the following you will find our evaluation of the OUT files:
OUT is a very common file type and does not have a uniform file format. The following file formats are most commonly found in OUT files:
- 15% of all OUT files are based on the well-known ELF file format. ELF is the abbreviation for Executable and Linkable Format and is the standard binary format on Linux and Unix. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The files are 8 KB to 440 KB in size, with a median of 17 KB. It is a modern file type. The file name a.out is typical for these files. These files are often associated with toco, whiterose, solution, plugin, chall, demo, luck and pure.
- 9% of all OUT files have the same signature HREC. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. The files are 180 bytes to 510 bytes in size, with a median of 250 bytes. The following keywords are characteristic: HREC, ICES1_5, CHCAI05, Query Raised By, INMAA1, UPLOAD, Group and TREC. Such OUT files store data about chcai, sache and sachi.
All the rest of the OUT files (76%) have different formats, the following 40 formats can be found: Lua bytecode, PDF, GZIP, XML, EXE, JSON, UTF-8, Entering, Name, Enter, GEOCHEM, CEFA, drag, PAGE and DISPLACEMENTS. The category is script, payslip, engine, paycert, fortinet or build. Just click the "Choose your .out file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your OUT file is.
