Opening PMC Files
The PMC file type is primarily associated with SCS Blender Tools.
What is a PMC file?
This version of a PMC file contains pure macro code encoded in UTF-8.
Some PMC files store configuration settings for Process Monitor.
This type is used in industrial settings with machine control data.
PMC files can also act as imaging configuration files.
How can I open a PMC file?
You need a suitable software like SCS Blender Tools to open a PMC file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your PMC file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a PMC file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

- Pegasus Mail (ASCII Format Mail Filter Rule) by David Harris
- PerlThis would be compiled bytecode Perl. The source code for Perl would have a .PM file extension.
- Windows (Performance Monitor File) by Microsoft CorporationThe Mime types used with this association are: application/x-perfmon.
PMC file format:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Our analysis of the PMC files produces the following result:
PMC is not that commonly used as a file extension. This file type includes various formats for various programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 35% of all PMC files start with the bytes 06 00 00 00, which are crucial for this file format. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. Most of these files are 140 bytes to 4 KB in size. The file type was developed only in the last few years. A usual file name is truck.pmc or model.pmc. These files are attributed to expensive, trailer and door.
- 20% of all PMC files internally utilize the UTF-8 file format. UTF-8 is the World Wide Web's most common character encoding for Unicode. UTF-8 files can be viewed with any text editor. These files start with the 3 bytes (hex: EF BB BF), the so called byte order mark (BOM). These files contain text and words, not binary data. The files are often between 410 bytes and 9 KB in size. The following keywords are characteristic: Fast, PMC Code v5, Window, [PMC Code, Input, Macro1, Groups=Start:1, Context=None!, [PMC Globals]!None!! and WinActivate. A common filename is Dream_clutch_macro.pmc or 2048_Coins_Rollercoin.pmc. Such files sometimes refer to macro, rollercoin, clutch, coins and dream.
The remaining 45% of all PMC files are files with no common format, the following 4 formats exist: Print Magic Card. These files are often connected to procmon, configuration, upload, ladder or script. If you want to find out what your PMC file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
