All about QDB Files
The QDB file type is primarily associated with SQLite.
What is a QDB file?
Some QDB files use a basic SQL structure, similar to a SQLite database file. You can open these with tools like an SQLite browser. For more details, visit SQLite.
Other QDB files are created by specific companies. For example:
FilExt.com note: When you inspect a QDB file with a text or hex editor, you might see markers (such as SQL commands) that reveal its underlying structure. This information tells you which tool to use for viewing or editing the file.
How to open a QDB file
You need a suitable software like SQLite to open a QDB file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your QDB file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a QDB file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert QDB files:
- SQLite
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. QDB files are often referred to as SQLite databases because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- CUEcards by Marcus Humann[German site] Allow you to organize text and documents into structures; in particular, the program assists with collections of knowledge. This file format is classified as Database.

QDB format details:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Below is our analysis of the QDB files:
The QDB file type is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. But the following two file formats are common:
- 25% of all QDB files are based on the popular SQL file format. An SQL file contains a lightweight SQLite database, widely used in application development for storing application related data. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. QDB files are between 12 KB and 25 MB in size. The file type was primarily used more than 10 years ago. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as SQLite format 3. Some examples of file names are Messages.qdb or Owner.qdb. Files like these are sometimes connected to application.
- 20% of all QDB files have the same signature 7F 51 44 42. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. QDB files can be up to 6 MB in size, but are often around 5 MB - 6 MB. Examples of file names are qdsp6m.qdb.
The remaining 55% of all QDB files are files with no common format, the following 6 formats can be found: JetDB, Modelsim and depot. Sometimes used for data, terapia, qdata or sbbm. You can get all the details of your QDB file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .qdb file to analyze" above.

a qdb database container is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with QDB files
- Associate the QDB file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open database containers. Because only the current version supports the latest QDB file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available SQLite update.
- To make sure that your QDB file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .QDB file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
