Opening an RXD File

The RXD file type is primarily associated with RXDA-Stat.

RXDFile Extension RXD
File extension: RXD
File type:  data file

What is an RXD file?

RXD files mostly belong to RXDA-Stat. The RXD file can mean two things, depending on its origin.
Rexx Data file: This type is used by applications like RXDA-Stat to hold internal data in a plain text format. You can open it with a text editor or a Rexx environment if you need to inspect its content.
Autodesk Revit Beam Reinforcement: A variant of the RXD file stores beam reinforcement data used in structural design. It is linked with CAD workflows and works with software such as Autodesk Revit and Advance Steel.
  • If you have a Rexx data file, viewing it with a plain text editor may be enough.
  • If you have a reinforcement file, use a CAD program that supports Autodesk Revit files.
  • FilExt.com tip: For additional insight into the structural design version, visit ASDIP Structural Software.

    How to open RXD files

You need a suitable software like RXDA-Stat to open an RXD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your RXD file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a RXD file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert RXD files:

    1. RXDA-Stat
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. RXD files are often referred to as RXDA-Stat data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
    2. Reflex (Database) by Borland Software Corporation
Reflex is an old DOS flat-file database system. The size of the database was limited to the amount of system memory.

    RXD file format:

To view or edit RXD files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below is our analysis of the RXD files:

RXD is rarely used as a file extension and is mainly used by one program with a specific format. The two most common formats are as follows:

All other RXD files (10%) have different formats. If you want to find out what your RXD file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.

How to solve problems with RXD files

    • Associate the RXD file extension with the correct application.
    • Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest RXD file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available RXDA-Stat update.
    • To make sure that your RXD file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
