How can I open an RDX file?

You need a suitable software like RStudio to open an RDX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. To find out what program is needed to open RDX files, you need to determine the file format. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. The RDX file extension is rather rarely used and covers different formats for different programs. The two most popular formats are as follows:

• 35% of all RDX files save the data in GZIP file format. Gzip is a compressed archive file format. Gzip (GNU zip) is only capable of compressing a single file. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. RDX files are between 180 bytes and 1 KB in size. The file type was developed only in the last few years. The file name Rdata.rdx is characteristic of these files. Files like these are sometimes connected to persist, redux and child.
• 20% of all RDX files are based on the zip format, so several files are compressed and saved in one RDX file. RDX files contain from 2 to 30 compressed files.
