Opening an SVD File
The SVD file type is primarily associated with Unity3D.
What is an SVD file
For example, one common use is as a Unity game save file created using the .NET framework. These files store player progress, game state, and settings in Unity3D‐based games.
Another use is for the CMSIS System View Description in embedded development. These files are in XML format and describe a microcontroller’s registers and memory map so that development tools (such as Keil uVision) can aid in debugging. You can read more on this at ARM CMSIS.

How to open SVD files
You need a suitable software like Unity3D to open an SVD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your SVD file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a SVD file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert SVD files:
- Unity3D
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. SVD files are often referred to as Unity3D games because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Video CD FileThis file format is classified as Video. Related links: How To, VCD Imager
- Word (Backup File) by Microsoft CorporationOffice Word is an authoring program that gives you the ability to create and share documents using a set of writing tools.
SVD file format:
To find out what program is needed to open SVD files, you need to determine the file format. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the SVD files looks like this:
The file type with the extension 'SVD' covers a large number of different file formats. But the following two file formats are common:
- 15% of all SVD files start with the bytes 00 AE 53 56 44 31 00 00 crucial for this file format. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. Most of these files are 4 MB to 31 MB in size. It is a modern file type. The files contain the following words: BSTaXPS0, PATaXPS0, PRFbXPS0, RHYaXPS0, SCSaXPS0, SVD1, SYSaXPS0, VISaXPS0, WPFaXPS0, WVDaXPS0 and ~SPFbXPS0. An example of a file name is XPS10.SVD. Files like these are about person-related data.
- 6% of all SVD files use the same file format, which have the signature ENTRY. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The file size is in the range of 2 KB to 2 KB. The files contain the following words: ENTRYVCD. A common filename is entries.svd.
The remaining 79% of all SVD files are different files with different signatures, such as CMSIS System View Description format, Roland Fantom audio, SUPERVCD and TRACKSVD. They are often associated with jpeg, yuvcmp, hime, save, camera, design, idata, scope or data. Just click the "Choose your .svd file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your SVD file is.

an svd game save file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with SVD files
- Associate the SVD file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open game save files. Because only the current version supports the latest SVD file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Unity3D update.
- To make sure that your SVD file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .SVD file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
