SWS file format:
To find out what program is needed to open SWS files, you need to determine the file format. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Our analysis of the SWS files produces the following result:
The SWS extension is quite commonly used. The file itself includes different formats for different programs. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 60% of all SWS files save the data in BZ2 file format. The BZ2 format is used by the bzip2 command in Linux to compress and decompress files. They consist of unreadable binary data. A typical file size is 17 KB. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. The following keywords are characteristic: BZh91AY&SY. Files like these have the following tags: practica, sage, skeleton, ctica, resuelta, lecture, wuolah and free.
- 10% of all SWS files are PowerDesigner WorkSpace files, which are using the popular XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The contents of these files can even be read by a human. The file size is in the range of 400 bytes to 860 bytes. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. <?PowerDesigner signature="Workspace", <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>, <Workspace>, <!-- do not edit this file -->, <Local Expanded="Yes"> and <Model Expanded="Yes" I. A common filename is Workspace.sws.
All the rest of the SWS files (30%) have different formats, often e.g. VisualScript. Often described as masi, introduccio, challenge, kolokwium, solution, algebra, perfect, prctica, deroui, vjezba, death or comb. If you want to find out what your SWS file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
