What is a TEC file

TEC files mostly belong to Tecplot 360 by Tecplot. A TEC file contains binary data describing mappings between Unicode and byte encoding when converting text encoding using TECkit. TEC is also the filename extension of a macro used to automate operations in applications such as Tecplot 360 and TECO. Although TEC files used by both programs contains scripts saved as ASCII text, they are actually written in different languages. L-Edit integrated circuit design software uses a TEC file to save a layout.

How to open TEC files

You need a suitable software like Tecplot 360 to open a TEC file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. The file name Mesh.tec is typical for these files.
