What is a TRP file
How do you open TRP files?
You need a suitable software like VLC to open a TRP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TRP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TRP file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

TRP file format:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Our evaluation of the TRP files looks like this:
An TRP file includes various formats for various programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in TRP files:
- 25% of all TRP files are based on the zip format, so several files are combined and compressed into one TRP file. Such a ZIP file contains 46 to 86 files with names like [Content_Types].xml, \_rels\.rels, \package\, \package\services\, \package\services\digital-signature\_rels\origin.psdsor.rels, \package\services\digital-signature\certificate\00D80EC1571D71F1E1.cer, \package\services\digital-signature\origin.psdsor and \trp\. Tip: If you rename the file ending to .zip and then double-click it, you see the included files and images. The files are 260 KB to 8 MB in size, with a median of 1 MB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><Types xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/package/2006/content-types and [Content_Types].xml. An example of a file name is 20180601Z.trp. Files like these are sometimes connected to geger.
- 5% of all TRP files use the same file format, which have the signature ܢM. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. The file size is in the range of 160 KB to 4 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. TROP.SFM and TROPCONF.SFM. Some examples of file names are TROPHY.TRP.
All other TRP files (70%) have no consistent format. They are often associated with data, fifo or ssbr. If you want to find out which format your TRP file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .trp file to view this image".

How to solve problems with TRP files
- Associate the TRP file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open high definition videos. Because only the current version supports the latest TRP file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the VideoLAN manufacturer website after an available VLC update.
- To make sure that your TRP file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .TRP file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
