What is a TWS file
Other uses include:
How do you open TWS files?
You need a suitable software like Twine to open a TWS file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TWS file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TWS file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

TWS file extension format:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the TWS files looks like this:
The TWS file ending is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The file formats most commonly found in TWS files are:
- 60% of all TWS files start with the bytes (dp0 S'buildDestination' p1 crucial for this file format. The contents of these files are easily readable with a text editor. The files are on average 300 KB in size and range from 43 KB to 2 MB. It is a modern file type. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as S'buildDestination', sS'saveDestination', S'C:\\Intel\\Pref\\BT41579\\IA764827\\Docs\\g and VC:\u005cIntel\u005cPref\u005cBT41579\u005cIA764827\u005cgames\u005cm\u005cGreat Tracts of Land.html. The following filename is common: Great Tracts of Land.tws or projet ffS.tws. Files like these are about gaia, tractsof, epadder and academy.
- 7% of all TWS files use the ZIP algorithm, so several files are compressed and saved in one TWS file. A TWS file can contain up to 70 files (mostly 23 - 40). File names inside are always Scene1.png. You can see the included files and images by renaming the file extension to .zip and then double-clicking it. A typical file size is 10 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. IHDR, PLTE, Scene and Foto0.png. An example of a file name is Scene0.tws or Scene1.tws.
The remaining 33% of all TWS files are files with no common format, such as XML, TextPad, version and TWinSoft. Sometimes used for tutorial, twine or save. If you want to find out what your TWS file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.

How to solve problems with TWS files
- Associate the TWS file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open multi-purpose project files. Because only the current version supports the latest TWS file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Twine update.
- To make sure that your TWS file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .TWS file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
