How do you open UAX files?

You need a suitable software like Unreal Engine to open a UAX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. UAX file format:

The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. The UAX file ending mainly uses a special format. The following file formats are most commonly found in UAX files:

• 75% of all UAX files use the popular Unreal file format. This Unreal Engine Package by Epic Games may contain textures, maps, music files, 3D models, or game settings. The package can be created and edited using the Unreal Development Kit. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. Most of these files are 68 KB to 50 MB in size. The file type was created 20 years ago but is still used today. The keywords Class, Package, Sound, None, Engine and Core are typical for these files. Some examples of file names are DudeDialog.uax. Files like these have the following tags: dialog, dude, sounds, voice, ambient, weapons, announcer and sound.
• 7% of all UAX files use the same file format, which have the signature C2 83 2A 9E 80 00 1D 00 01. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. Most of these files are 920 KB to 27 MB in size. The files contain the following words: None, Package, Class, Core, Engine, Sound and SoundGroup. Files like these are about base.

All other UAX files (18%) have no uniform format, often e.g. Flash, KFXArchive and GEAR. The category is music, menu, moversfx, arcade, male, mikejdialog, character, footsteps, female, voices or weapon.
