What is a VHDL file?

VHDL files mostly belong to Quartus by Intel. VHDL is a programming language for designing, simulating, optimizing, and verifying digital systems such as Systems on a Chip, logic gates, and integrated circuits. VHDL is short for VHSIC Hardware Description Language. The language was standardized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
