What is a WS file
WS files mostly belong to Forcepoint DLP Endpoint. WS files are not a single file format but rather a group of files with different purposes.
They are used in several contexts:Encrypted Data: Some WS files use UTF-16 (LE) encoding to store encrypted information. This is common with the Forcepoint DLP Endpoint software, which protects sensitive data. Connection Profiles: Other WS files save connection settings. For example, IBM Host On-Demand uses a WS file as a connection profile for IBM Personal Communications, managing iSeries emulator settings. How do you open WS files?
You need a suitable software like Forcepoint DLP Endpoint to open a WS file. WS file extension format:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. Open it on an authorized endpoint machine or run. The file name playerWitcher.ws is characteristic of these files. Such files are related to player, mccormac, witcher, quest, docx, menu and xlsx.
- 9% of all WS files are associated with IBM iSeries Client Access WorkStation profile files, which internally utilize the well-known config format. A configuration file is used by computer software to store settings. It consists of a text-based content with a structure and syntax comprising key–value pairs for properties, and sections that organize the properties. These files are text files, so they contain words and text. Most of these files are 500 bytes to 860 bytes in size. The keywords ID=WS, [Profile], HostName, Version=9, [Telnet5250], Security=CA400 and trace=Y are typical for these files.
